I have been involved in the bodybuilding and fitness industry for over 20 years as both a bodybuilding competitor and as a coach helping hundreds of athletes reach their goals; working with bodybuilding, fitness, figure, and bikini competitors. I turned Pro and joined the IFBB in 2006 by winning the Canadian National Super Heavy Weight Overall Masters title. In addition, I have served as a judge with the BCABBA for a number of years. Darren Toma News

I am currently 4 weeks out of the Toronto Pro show - sitting at 250 lbs and on track for a contest weight of about 245 lbs on June 2nd. I haven't stepped on stage since 2007 so it's been a while since the last time I competed and I'm pumped to get into my best ever condition for the Toronto Pro. I have no expectations on how I will place - I just want to get in my best shape to date. I also forgot how much clean food I have to consume for prep - WOW!! It's a lot and every week it seems to go up. Currently this is how it looks - 60 oz of protein daily from chicken, turkey and the occasional steak plus a couple of shakes, 350 grams of complex carbs from rice and oats and over 100 grams of fats from flax/Udos oil daily. Eating has always been a huge factor for me - very simple. With my metabolism, if I don't eat lots of food I lose size. I also feel good injury wise. I am seeing my chiropracter Dr Dave Hunt and going for deep muscle message weekly which helps me to give 110% in the gym and speeds up my recovery time.
